The Armor of Light
Proverbs 16:1-3
THE PLANS of the mind and orderly thinking belong to man, but from the Lord comes the [wise] answer of the tongue. 2All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits (the thoughts and intents of the heart). 3Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed. Amplified
Romans 13:12
Our battle is not with flesh and blood, we must be ready for the battle – John 16:33; 2 Corinthians 10:3-6; Ephesians 6:10-18
- · Be strong – 1743 – endunamaoo - to empower, enable, increase in strength, be or make strong; from en meaning in and dunamis meaning miracle power, you could say to empower with a strength not your own!
- · Power – kratos -
- · This power is demonstrated, not just some high intellectual power – 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 - Demonstration – apodeixis – 585 – manifestation, demonstration, from 584 – apodeiknumi – to show off, exhibit, accredit, prove, show, set forth.
- · This power is demonstrative, eruptive and tangible, this was a power given in Greek mythology to Hercules – superhuman, supernatural strength to do the impossible.
- · This power is something that can been seen by others –Hebrews 2:2-4; Romans 8:19; Ephesians 1:19-20; Colossians 1:9-11
- · Kratos was in operation when they came to arrest Jesus – John 18:5-6

- o ***You can experience this power too, you have to have your expectations that this power is at work in and for you when you are in Christ - Romans 8:9-11 “But if God himself has taken up residence in your life, you can hardly be thinking more of yourself than of him. Anyone, of course, who has not welcomed this invisible but clearly present God, the Spirit of Christ, won't know what we're talking about. But for you who welcome him, in whom he dwells—even though you still experience all the limitations of sin—you yourself experience life on God's terms. It stands to reason, doesn't it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he'll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ's!” The Message
- · Might - ischus – 2479 – forcefulness, ability, might, power, strength; it is the picture: of a very strong man such as a bodybuilder, or a mighty man with great muscular capabilities. - · With the stroke of His hand brought Egypt to its knees and released the Jewish people from slavery
- · With the stroke of His hand shoved aside the wicked forces that tried to stop Him and though it was medically and physically impossible Jesus was conceived and born of a virgin
- · With the stroke of His hand His power surged and overpowered death, hell and the grave raising Jesus from the dead, wiped out all your sin through Jesus’ sacrifice and stripping satan and his minions of their power and made a spectacle of them. Colossians 2:14-15

For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future]. But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].
